FSCJ

My career at FSCJ evolved from student intern to full-time Communications Coordinator and later to Adjunct Professor. Over the years, I created hundreds of digital and print assets supporting student engagement, diversity initiatives, and academic departments—leading multimedia projects, strategic messaging, and inclusive campaigns. As an instructor, I now bring that real-world experience into the classroom, developing hands-on, media-rich learning experiences for the next generation of digital creatives.

FSCJ Video Production Work

THE ART OF THE MOVIE POSTER: As a Digital and Multimedia Designer and adjunct professor at FSCJ, I reimagined my graphic design curriculum by producing an engaging video on the art and history of movie poster design. The video explores key design principles and iconic styles, challenging students to envision modern films as vintage posters.

I developed all visual elements—including animated motion graphics and video editing—using Adobe Premiere Pro and meticulously cited sources. The voice narration was generated with ElevenLabs’ text-to-speech AI, based on my original script, ensuring a professional tone while preserving my creative vision.

FACULTY SPOTLIGHT with MARQ MERVIN: As part of an initiative to highlight FSCJ faculty, this video was filmed in our on-campus television studio through a collaboration between the Digital Media Program and the Student Engagement department. I served as director, interviewer, and videographer for the production, and handled all post-production work—including color correction, editing, and custom title graphics—to create a polished and engaging final piece.

ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT with Rose Francois: In an effort to strengthen alumni connections, this video spotlight features FSCJ alumna Rose Francois and her impactful work with Year Up. Filmed in our on-campus television studio, the production was a collaboration between the Digital Media Program and the Student Engagement department. I led the filming, interviewing, and directing process, and completed all post-production work, including editing, color correction, and title graphics, to deliver a compelling and polished alumni story.

Guest Instructor Featuring Sidiki Conde: While earning my A.S. in Digital Media, I regularly volunteered with FSCJ’s video production teams. For this project, I filmed and edited a feature on guest instructor Sidiki Conde—a West African immigrant and interpretive dance teacher who shares his culture and story through movement. Disabled since age 14, Mr. Conde dances using his hands and teaches with the philosophy that everyone, regardless of ability, can dance. The project combined storytelling with technical production and was later recognized within the college—ultimately leading to a full-time job offer as Communications Coordinator with FSCJ’s Student Engagement department.

Student Government Association Seal, Logo and Branding | 2018

Despite over 50 years of history, FSCJ’s Student Government Association (SGA) had never established an official seal. As part of my role, I led the development of the SGA seal and logo, conducting design research to ensure the final mark aligned with peer institutions while remaining unique to FSCJ. The design incorporated elements from the college’s BlueWave athletic logo and overall brand identity, creating a cohesive and credible visual that now represents student leadership across the institution.

Student Engagement Department | 2017 - 2019

As Communications Coordinator for FSCJ’s Student Engagement Department, I regularly created day-to-day promotional materials to support departmental initiatives and messaging. This included designing both print and digital assets such as posters, flyers, brochures, and newsletters—ensuring all materials aligned with the college’s branding and effectively engaged the student audience.

Diversity and Social Change Office Annual Report | 2018 - 2019

Designing the annual report for FSCJ’s Office of Diversity and Social Change was one of my favorite projects. The office leads initiatives around inclusivity education, cultural awareness, and equity for students from underrepresented communities. I designed the report’s full layout and branding to effectively communicate the office’s impact to faculty, staff, administration, and the Board of Trustees.

Diversity Awareness Poster Campaigns | 2017-2018

Much of my work for FSCJ’s Office of Diversity and Social Change centered on inclusive messaging through creative visual campaigns. One of my favorite projects was developing the Diversity Awareness Poster Campaigns, including “I Don’t Say” and “I Am an Immigrant.” These campaigns featured portraits of FSCJ athletes, faculty, staff, and students, aiming to foster empathy and cultural awareness across campus. I led the full creative process—organizing and directing photoshoots, setting up studio lighting, photographing each subject, and handling all retouching, layout design, and final production.

Diversity and Social Change | 2017-2019

When I began as Communications Coordinator, FSCJ’s Student Engagement department was newly formed—bringing together several key initiatives, including the Office of Diversity and Social Change. I played a central role in shaping the department’s communications by establishing its messaging, design, and visual identity. This included creating logos, t-shirts, informational displays, reports, presentations, posters, and handouts. Together, these materials built a cohesive brand that attracted and engaged students, faculty, and the wider campus community.
